Muay Thai / Thaiboxing / Kickboxing is the national sport of Thailand. It is also referred to as “the Art of Eight Limbs” because you are using your hands, elbows, knees, and legs. Muay Thai training develops your cardio-vascular system, endurance, strength, flexibility, speed, and self confidence. It will also help you relieve stress, lose weight, and teach you how to defend yourself.
Muay Thai is known for it’s intense training routines, and the challenge is not easy. You will require discipline and dedication to endure it, and I invite you to rise to the challenge. Muay Thai not only teaches skill and physical strength; but also helps develop a strong personal character.
Staten Island Muay Thai is Staten Island’s only traditional Muay Thai gym. Whether you’re a beginner or have a martial arts background we are here to give you the knowledge of the traditional Muay Thai style of Kickboxing. We will help you achieve your goals whether it is to become a fighter or just train for fun and physical fitness. We aim to encourage personal growth and development in each of our students through martial arts.
Our classes consist of a warm up, technique, heavy bag drills, Muay Thai pad work, clinching, sparring (optional), and a cool down.
